They will . . . ·Review Bloom’s Taxonomy with reference to low level and high level questioning. ·Become acquainted with questions in relation to Science Inquiry, 1.Student raised questions for inquiry 2.Teacher questions for discussion and lessons:clarifying, focusing, probing, prompting 3.Interaction of questions Summary of Activities: 1.Teachers will participate in an interactive activity to review Bloom’s Taxonomy and low and high level questions. 2.Teachers will review the highlights in chapter 9, Using Questioning Skills in Inquiry, in Inquire Within. 3.Teachers will have the opportunity to reflect on their own questioning practices within their classrooms and be encouraged to be more cognizant of their techniques in upcoming lessons. 4.Teachers will become aware that they will revisit this content at the fall retreat and reflect on their questioning practices evident during the first quarter of school.
